Shuttle Works Studio is a member of the new Eagle River Gallery, in Eagle River, WI. Located at 836 W. Pine St. (Hwy. 70 W.). The gallery opened on Memorial Day weekend this year with several local/area artists. You will find jewelry, wood- working, woodcarving, weaving, and more. Open Studio Days – I will be having my working studio open to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays, 10 AM to 4 PM on the following dates: September 2 & 3; and October 14 & 15. This is an opportunity to see a working weaving studio, several kinds of Swedish Glimakra looms, spinning wheels, and a 1908 Gearhart Circular Sock Knitting Machine. Demonstrations are available.
Shuttle Works Studio is located at 5120 Wilsch Road, Conover, WI. Directions: approx. 6 miles north of Eagle River, up Hwy. 45 N., turn left/west onto Torch Lake Road; at the “Y” stay to the right, now Wilsch Road, drive to the end of the paved road and continue on the single track private road to the log home/studio. My “Shuttle Works Studio” sign will be out!
On Sat., Oct. 7, 9 AM to 4 PM, during CranberryFest weekend, several members of the Lake Country Weavers/Fiber Arts Guild will be at the UCC Church in Eagle River. Mary Jackl will have her rag rugs, handspun yarns, and felted items for sale. I will have weaving and hopefully wool socks made on an antique sock machine. I’ll also be demonstrating on the sock machine.
